Integration issues

All economies arguably benefit from globalization. They have a common stakes in promoting it and in managing the challenges that it brings about. This is particularly true of the world’s largest economies, trading nations and ideological rivals: the United States and the People’s Republic of China.  Today, the container stands between two issues critical to contemporary globalization. On the one hand is the issue of market “freedom.” On the other hand is the issue of sovereign “security.” Flanked by these issues the container highlights the tensions between the demands of global trade and those of state and global security. Not for nothing is the container known as the “Trojan box.”
